Before the beginning of the Hurricane Season, the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration had predicted 12 to 18 named storms and 6 to 10 hurricanes. A recent article written by the Miami Herald, explains how the numbers have gone up. “The new [prediction] calls for 14 to 19 named storms and 7 to 10 hurricanes, with 3 to 5 growing into major Category 3 or stronger storms.”
