As the cold front moved into Houston, Texas, heavy thunderstorms threatened the city. Unexpected rain, ranging from 1.5 to more than 3 inches, caused about 11,000 residents to be left without power early Saturday morning.
The Houston Chronicle stated that the number of people still without electricity has slowly been reduced and the worst storms have moved on. Roads in rural areas, such as Grimes County, have been closed.
As we near the summer season, more and more storms will begin to form and cause blackouts for many Houston, Texas residents.
